Stunning hand painted 10-1/2" vase featuring Biblical Ruth, standing in the fields of Boaz.
It is signed by artist K. RYBA. Although this vase carries no decorating studio mark, Ryba was a Chicago china decorator employed by Stouffer Studio in the early 1900's. Stouffer and Pickard Studios were the largest, and perhaps best known, of the Chicago area decorating studios during the hey-days of china painting in the late 1800's and into the 1900's. Ryba is known for his scenic paintings of people and animals. This vase is a showcase of his talent, with exquisitely fine detail, and fabulous use of color and gold trim.
The vase is in extremely fine condition. It measures 10-1/2" tall and is apprx. 6" across the shoulder. There is no paint loss....white areas in photos are light reflections. I have tried to include photos under several lighting conditions.
