This charming plate features a sandpiper along the water's edge. Hand painted and signed by Adolf Heidrich, it also carries his studio decorating mark 2, dating it to 1918-1922.
Heidrich is most known for his wonderful portrayal of animals and scenic designs. Although the bulk of his work was done at Donath Studio in Chicago, he later opened his own studio, which is where this little beauty was painted.
This plate measures 6" diameter. There is a glaze pinprick near the left edge, and a smaller one near the signature (see photos), but is otherwise in extremely fine condition.
