This 8 3/4" plate features a vignette of the Venetian waterfront with colorful sailboats in the foreground. Daisy blossoms and leaves surround the scene, against a pastel background.
The plate is in very fine condition with only the most minimal wear to the outer edge of the gold border. It carries Pickard Studio mark 7 (1912-1918). On the backside it says VENICE and has the signature A.COMYN. It is very hard to see this information on the back....the plate must be held under the light and tilted, but it is there. I believe the paint used for the signature may have burned off during firing and only the outline of it remains. It is located between the plate base and the bottom of the Pickard mark.
