Marvella Jewelry created this fabulous bright green necklace and earrings set using beautiful and unusual faux beads they referred to as "Neo-Jade". Items made for this line were hand knotted on pure silk by the finest craftsmen. The beads were skillfully created with a slightly raised rim around the center of each - even the very tiny beads on the earrings. Beads have a mottled appearance - so pretty!
The bead and chain extender allows the necklace to be worn choker style or lower on the neck. I have shown images for both lengths worn on a life size mannequin. Total open length measures 18 inches long, with each large bead a little over 3/8 inch. Earrings measure 1 inch and feature tiny beads wired to a gold tone setting, with a bright gold tone covering over the wirework. Earring fittings have a screw back that also snaps open and closed. The necklace hook clasp has two tiny prong set smoky gray rhinestones that may have been clear originally.
Signed Marvella on the necklace hook and Marvella (c) on each earring. Dates late 1950s 1960s.
Condition is very good, with little signs of use. The fabulous green color will take you all the way from Spring to Christmas.
