Vintage pair of Orion Japan bisque garden scene figurals in colonial attire - a young lady playing a mandolin and a young gentleman playing a violin.
Each figure seated on a garden bench, with a tree rising in back and flowers covering the ground beneath the bench.
Pastel hand painted details.
Enhanced with gold on the buckles of their shoes and the faces of their instruments, as well as fabulous gold moriage dots ~ on the branches of the trees, over the front of her dress, along the outside of her sleeves, and on the front of the gentleman’s ascot and trousers, and along the outside of his jacket sleeves.
These exquisite figurals are not made from a single mold, but are many different pieces placed together. The figures, instruments, hat, basket and benches are all separate pieces joined to the base.
Condition: Excellent. The only fault I can find with either is a small loss of color on one of their shoes. Even the detailed flower petals are perfect.
Mark: Marked in red on the base Orion Made in Japan.
Measurements: 5 3/4 inches high and 4 1/2 inches wide.
They are fabulous!
