We are offering this very impressive pair of mid-century modern triple candelabra, or candleholders, in bright and lustrous chrome over a brass base metal. I have often heard the brass referred to as 'bell' brass because just a tiny tap creates a lingering and clear and beautiful bell sound.
The design of the candle holders reminds me of Danish or Scandinavian influence, but the actual maker remains unknown. I have noticed similarly constructed candle cups on some that were Danish or German in origin. Each is these is marked on the base with a "W" or "M", but I have been unable to identify who the mark represents. If an "M", I initially thought they might be from The Miller Company, but do not believe they marked their pieces with only an M, or perhaps "M" might be for Muller or Mueller, but just guessing. Then, again, the mark could be "W".
Three tubular rods rise up from a round platform, with two curving and crossing each other midpoint. The center tube flows straight up and is elevated above the others. The candle drip trays have a serrated or textured edge. The result of this entire design is spectacular and they make quite a statement.
Measurements: 21 1/2 inches high.
11 1/2 inches wide from one candle tray edge to the opposite.
5 7/8 inches base.
2 3/4 inches high candle cups.
3 inch candle drip trays.
Condition: Some very light marks, minimal, but because of the highly reflective, shiny and lustrous chrome, they are difficult to notice. No wear to the chrome. The only fault on one is a very tiny ding on the top edge of the round platform that holds the rods or tubes.
Chrome is mirror-like and fabulous!
