This vintage 1940s to 1960s gold gilded brass mirrored dresser tray has ornate rope twist scroll handles and an elaborate chased design on the entire frame. Mirror tray is perfect for displaying your perfumes or vanity items. I have provided an example showing the tray used to display a perfume bottle.
Measurements: 17 inches wide, 8 1/4 inches front to back and just under 1/2 inch high.
Conditon: Gold gilt remains bright, with appropriate aging to the finish. Mirror has some light use scratches and three about 1/4 inch long that you can feel with a fingernail. Mirror has no hazing or discoloration.
I am quite sure that this tray was made by Stylebuilt Accessories, New York. They used gold plating over brass and only affixed a small paper label to the bottom. I found reference to another that retained the Stylebuilt label that had the same corduroy fabric on the base. The black corduroy fabric on the bottom of this tray does have a small amount of residue in one area where a label would have been attached.
This very generously sized vanity tray is large enough to hold a brush, mirror, comb set or several of your accessory items..... even a pretty vase filled with fresh flowers would look fabulous, as the beauty of the flowers reflected in the mirror.
