Dainty Shape describes perfectly this cup and saucer set by Shelley, England. In fine bone china, it features a large spray of stock flowers in pink, lavender, white and blue, with a smaller bouquet on the reverse of blue starflowers and pink stocks.
Flared rim has six large scallops, reminiscent of flower petals, rimmed with pink. Each scallop has a ribbed fan shape that extends down the cup. Saucer has an embossed flower petal design, separated by the ribbed fan shapes. Foot of saucer, top rim of cup and edge of saucer have pink detailing, as well as the cup handle.
Saucer measures 5 3/4 inches. Cup is 3 5/8 inches across the scallops and 2 1/2 inches high.
Mark on back dates the set to the period 1945 to 1966, and is imprinted with "Stocks" and "13428".
Condition minty. No damage of any kind or any signs of use. Glossy surface with bright and vivid floral design.
