This Louis XV, aka Winged Scrolls, custard glass covered sugar bowl and cream pitcher set is Early American Pattern Glass introduced by the Northwood Glass Company circa 1898.
Pattern has ornate scrolls and foliage, with a gold gilt flower as the focal point on the front and back. Highly enhanced with gold gilt on the rim, handle, cover finial and entirely covering the four scrolled feet.
Dimensions: Cream pitcher 5 3/4 inches spout to end of handle and 4 3/4 inches high. Covered sugar bowl 6 1/2 inches to top of finial and 4 3/4 inches across rim.
Condition: This set has survived its long life in beautiful condition. Gold gilding has some loss on the rims, handle and finial, with only minimal loss to the gilding on the feet. There is some chipping on the edge of a few scrolls on the pitcher and on one scroll on the sugar bowl, that can be felt with the fingertip. This custard glass set looks fabulous with still bright and vibrant gilding after all these years.
