We are offering this vintage Hall China 6 cup teapot in a fabulous medium blue color known as Cadet. Lavish gold trim adorns the foot, spout, handle, lid and around the lid opening, as well as splashes of gold floral and leaf accents on the body of the teapot. The style is known as Hook Cover and was introduced into the line in 1940.
Look is very streamlined, with the handle forming a wide arc beginning near the base and ending at the top, becoming an integral part of the rim.
Base is marked: HALL in a circle and Made in U.S.A., and also marked in gold with the production number: 0749 6 Cup Made in U.S.A.
Measurements are: 9 1/2 inches spout to end of handle and 5 1/2 inches high.
Condition excellent. Gold is intact except for one small loss on the front of the spout. A stray line of gold is on the body near the bottom of the handle. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or damage. Glaze remains bright and shiny. Inside is clean and I do not see any signs of use.
The hook cover was certainly innovative. When you pour tea, the cover is securely held in place by the hook.
