This exquisite 1920s to 1930s sparkling cut crystal Art Deco Czech perfume bottle is encased in gilt brass ornate filigree, with an oval prong set porcelain plaque featuring a transfer painted courting scene. The neck of bottle is also encased in ornate brass filigree. It does have some faults, detailed below.
Bottle is topped by a cut and faceted crystal stopper, with a frosted intaglio design that resembles a mythological figure at the top.
The Art Deco shaped bottle has vertical stepped ribbed flutes and has a smooth polished base with an acid etched Made in Czechoslovakia mark.
Bottle measures 3 1/8 inches wide, 2 1/4 inches to top surface and 1 1/2 inches front to back. Overall height is 7 1/2 inches with stopper in place. Stopper measures 5 1/4 inches by 1 7/8 inches.
There is some damage to the perfume bottle. The neck collar is completely broken off. But, as you can see in the images, the effect is lessened because the brass filigree nicely helps to conceal the damage.
The stopper has four tiny chipped areas on the facets, but I had to look very closely with a loupe to see them. Bottom of stopper has a rough pontil, so may have originally had a dauber attached.
Filigree is in excellent condition. Bottle displays nicely.
