These circa 1920s Art Deco bookends feature mother and baby elephants with upraised trunks, and are marked Nuart NYC NY USA. They are made of metal, with a bronzed or patinated finish, and are quite heavy, weighing a little over two pounds each.
They are in very good condition, with no breaks or serious faults. The bronzed finish on the elephants is still bright and has only a few small losses, the most serious on the side of one baby's trunk.
They each measure 4 1/4 inches high at the domed back and 5 1/4 inches wide across the back. Largest elephant is 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches high from the platform to the top of his trunk.
