This circa late 1880s early 1900 Victorian oak ferner or pedestal, in solid quarter grained oak, will add a touch of elegance to any home.
It is quite unique with its double tier design, that features a stepped out shaped platform at the center of the reeded and fluted column and a round platform at the top. Normally, these are only found with one platform at the top. Four curved legs end with a large scroll at the top and bottom.
Pedestal retains its original finish in a medium golden oak. The middle shelf shows some wear to the finish, but not enough to affect it adversely. It still looks great and is otherwise in excellent condition.
It measures 43 1/2 inches to the top of round platform, 24 inches from leg to leg (front to back), 21 inches from leg to leg (side to side), 11 inch diameter top platform, and 16 by 12 1/2 inches lower shelf.
