This vintage head vase is called a glamour girl by collectors. Glamour girls were mostly artisan made (with some factory exceptions) and featured simple faces with closed eyes, drawn on lashes, bouffant hair and colorful lips. There are many varieties of these gals to collect since each one was a handmade original. This one is very different in that the artist actually painted open eyes! Love ‘em or hate ‘em she is unique in that regard. (I have to admit they are growing on me.) The shade of blue is just gorgeous and I love the choker or halter style around her neck. She is a one of a kind!
Condition: Very good condition having no major chips or cracks. She does have overall crazing. There is one tiny nick on the edge of her hat that faces towards the back and has been touched up so nicely it pretty much gets lost. (See pictures)
