This vintage rooster and roses ceramic canister set is so unique. In all the years I have owned it and have looked for another I have never been able to find anything like it. The wedge canisters are so unique and the compartmentalized lazy susan is so cool! It features four larger canisters for flour, sugar, tea and coffee; and four smaller canisters for cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves. Each canister has a triangular wedge shape and fits into the compartments provided by the lazy susan style holder. Bearings in the wood base allow it to spin effortlessly. I think the wood housing would be darling painted in any color to match to your farm house decor. (I think black would make the canisters pop!) There is one ceramic lid missing but all of the lids are interchangeable so you can pick the one you don’t mind leaving open (I would leave wrapped tea bags in an open container so they are easy to grab all day long) and simply face that canister towards the wall if it bothers you. Even someone with a huge collection of rooster and roses will probably not have this rare canister set.
Measurements: 10” x 8 1/2” x 10 complete. Tall canisters are roughly 6” and the smaller ones are about 3”. The triangle shape is 4 1/2” across the front and 4 inches down the sides.
Condition: Fair to Good. Most of the canisters are in excellent condition. Major things to note are one missing (interchangeable) lid and the flour canister does have a crack on one of the back sides. The sugar has one front edge that is a little rough but not real noticeable. All the other lids and canisters are clean and perfect. The wood housing could use a fresh coat of whatever color or stain you would like to put on it to match your decor but truly it also displays fine as is in a more country primitive decor.
Marks: N over C mark indicative of PY post WWII era
