Goebel Charlot Byj 76 Redhead Grilling Boy Figurine “Barbeque” 1975
I am pleased to offer up a small collection of Goebel Byj redheads. Artist Charlot Byj started out by creating the famous redheaded children for greeting cards. Byj joined the Goebel Company in the late 1940's after Franz Goebel noticed some of her artwork. They were produced between 1957 and 1988 with Charlot passing in 1983. Today, they are sought after by collectors around the world. (Resource: azshocks/hobbies/collecting)
One of my favorite redheads of the bunch is this unique figure of a boy grilling a steak and his feline friend looking on in anticipation. Fabulous detail right down to the bricks on the outdoor grill and the marbling in the steak. Rare piece made for only a short period of time.
