I bought this brooch in London in 1985. I was told by the dealer that it was made 1870-1890 when shooting parties were all the rage among the wealthy who had great country houses and their lucky invitees. Fortunately there was no one after these lovely pheasants. Hand painted on porcelain. The painting is exquisite. 2" wide by 1 5/8" with the old c clasp and long pin. Tests as 9K gold with acid.
