Don Lucas is one of my favorite artists. He has been making wonderful jewelry using quality materials since the 1970s. This is an early piece made in the style of the Lakota Sioux. The necklace is composed of a sterling concho with 4 repousse hearts and excellent chisel work, hand carved bone and turquoise beads, and sterling end pieces. I assume the turquoise bars are stabilized for strength. Hook closure. 1 1/2" at the widest, 12" to 14". An extender could be used but the necklace must be worn up on the neck as a choker or the concho will lean forward. I tried it on and loved the way it looked, but my neck is a little more than 14". Marked D. Lucas sterling. Excellent vintage condition.
