From my collection, I bought this ring in London during the 1980s. It has the classic simplicity of the late Georgian period. The stone is a tourmaline (10mm by 12mm). It is as deep as the pyramidal surround, almost 1/4". The face of the ring is 3/4" at its widest. The sides are beautifully decorated. The ring measures 6 1/4" on my mandrel. Marked 333 for 8K gold. The stone tested as tourmaline with my Presidium electronic gem tester. This is a lovely ring. The scratches are light and cannot be felt. Barely noticeable.
