Terrific late nineteenth or early twentieth century bronze sculpture, The Dying Gladiator, also called The Dying Gaul after the original antique, 230 – 220 BC commissioned by Attalos I of Pergamon to honor the victory over the Galatians. This late 19th – early 20th century bronze with dark patina is likely a French Barbedienne model.
Measures approximately 6.375" long x 3.125" wide x 3.5" tall. Rich, dark patina has not been over- polished. Apparently unsigned.
