Fantastical antique Continental, possibly French majolica faience mantle vases having open mouthed, toothy sea creatures encircling cornucopia vases among flowering woodland shrubs and bulrushes, and terminating on oval Rococo platform bases each supported by four ornate whorl feet. The tin glazed earthenware vases have ivory color, bi-fold pleated rims which are picked out in deep brown ochre and contrasting sea green interiors.
Each measure approximately 11.75" tall x 7.375" deep x 5.375" widest. No damage or restoration. Apparently unsigned. Circa second half, nineteenth century.
What exceptional vases these are - having glorious color and an exciting form.
