A Meissen Porcelain dessert plate having a rim with an open basket-weave border picked out in gold enamels, interspersed with three cartouches, each hand painted with polychrome floral bouquets and insects, and a central floral bouquet with insects. This design, (number 2 in Meissen’s catalog) was first produced in 1764. See, “The Book of Meissen” by Robert E. Rontgen.
Measures approximately 8.2 diameter. Good condition with no chipping or restoration. Carries Meissen crossed swords and impressed numbers. Ship standard size 14x14x10.
