An exquisite, Victorian hand painted portrait of the Moghul Empress Mumtaz Mahal (1593 – 1631). Emperor Shah Jahan gave her the name meaning, “Jewel of the Palace” and in her memory he built one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal.

It is framed in a suitably beautiful Italian Pietra dura frame in the form of an artist palette, the inlaid stone depicting a single, perfect bloom amongst buds and thorny branches.

Measures approximately 11.4 inches tallest x 8.25 inches widest x .389 inches thick. Minor chips to outer edge of black marble frame, but no major issues or restoration.

Weights approximately 2.75 pounds BEFORE packing standard size 18" X 12" X 10".
