Porcelain center low bowl or dish from the Mottahedeh Williamsburg Chelsea Bird Collection inspired by the original bird designs found on 18th century English Chelsea Porcelain plates.
The original plates in the Chelsea collection at Colonial Williamsburg are attributed to the London workshop of James Giles and demonstrate the exotic bird designs on traditional shapes common to Chinese Export, English and Continental porcelains of the 18th century.
Measures approximately 12.125" long x 9.38" widest x 2.125" tall. No damage or restoration. Originally retailed for about $200. Made for Mottahedeh by Vista Alegre Porcelain, Portugal. We have two of these with slightly different Vista Alegre Porcelain backstamps from the same estate. Now quantity is one. Weighs about 2 pounds BEFORE packing. Ship Std 18x18x10
