This Lobmeyr Meyr’s Neffe pitcher in dark green glass is decorated in a style popular in Venice in the 15th and 16th century.
Contemporary sources name Franz Schimpke (1821 – 1903) from the Haida region in North Bohemia as glass painter. This decor was exhibited in 1873 at the World's Fair in Vienna and the 1876 World’s Fair in Philadelphia. (Reference J. & L. Lobmeyr Between Tradition and Innovation, Prestel)
