Spectacular! Hand painted C.T. Tielsch Altwasser porcelain oyster plate having a slightly iridescent glaze on a polychrome decoration shading from shell pink to goldenrod-yellow with a smoky brown ground.
The factory founded by Carl Tielsch in 1845 rapidly became known for producing porcelains of the highest quality and were compared to the Berlin factories and Meissen.
Measures approximately 9.25 inches diameter. No chips or restoration. Carries underglaze mark in blue for Carl Tielsch porcelains produced between the years 1875 – 1909.
We have three plates available. Since they are all hand painted expect slight variations in execution and coloration.
