Scarce Elizabeth I of England cast metal expandable sliding book rack model number 9962 was likely made by the New York firm of H.L. Judd Company. First quarter twentieth.
Around 1910 the firm of H.L. Judd began producing an art metal line of quality sand cast bookends and book racks in iron, brass and bronze. Their products were marked with a 9000 series number.
The book rack length is about 8.5 inches and expands to a maximum of 14.5 inches. Measures 6 inches wide x 5 inches tallest. The book end components are apparently cast iron and slides brass. Catalog/product number 9962 cast in both iron ends (see photo).
