Circa 1938 Rookwood Pottery vase by Edward Timothy Hurley, (1869 – 1950) having a squat, globular form and decorated with prunis cherry blossoms and buds upon a matt vellum ground shading from lavender-blue to rosy-pink.
Measures approximately 3.5” tall x 4.5” diameter. Impressed marks for Rookwood plus cipher for year 1938 and artist’s initials. No damage or restoration. Small glaze anomaly (pit/pinholing) in flower center (see photo) is not damage but is inherent with handmade pottery of this type.
This vase has lovely color shading and excellent decoration.
