A fine Tiffany Favrile lamp having a twisted candlestick base in gold iridescent glass, and fitted with a pulled feather opal glass candle insert, and a gold iridescent ruffled, crimped shade.
These Tiffany lamps were designed for use with a candle, but also came in a kerosene burner version and an electric version. The opening (hole) near the foot was performed at Tiffany Studios.
The original cloth cord has been cut off and you will need to add a new cord should you wish to use it as an electrified lamp . Inside the candle insert is a very small socket (has not been removed or tested). Since many collectors prefer not to use them as an electric lamp to avoid heat damage, we are selling this lamp as just as it came into the store.
Measures overall approximately 12.5” tall. Base signed L.C.T., and shade L.C.T. Favrile and number 4235. No damage or restoration. Shade top rim has an internal bubble or annealing line just above the number (see photo) and appears stable.
