Outstanding French Empire vert feuille decanter – ewer having an elongated form, made in semi-translucent green opaline glass, and cut with a combination of bands in pillar flutes, sharp diamond cutting and roundels. Applied notch cut serpentine handle. Circa 1820 – 1850, France. Fluoresces under blacklight.
Measures approximately 14.67” tall overall. Polished pontil. Excellent condition. Stopper has wedge-shaped chip off the end that fits into the ewer. It has been polished, and looks like it may have occurred when the stopper was ground and fitted to seat properly into the decanter.
