A fine 19th century French patinated bronze sculpture signed Barbedienne Fondeur (France, 1810 -1892) also carrying impressed foundry seal, Reduction Mecanique A. Collae (and partial Brevete) depicting a woman kneeling beside a skull and holding a cross portraying the Penitent Magdalene after the Neoclassic original by Antonio Canova (1757 - 1822).
Measures approximately 6” x 5.6” wide x 6.7” tall. Retains paper tag from Christies Auction, December, 1989. Good, dark brown patina. Ship standard size 12x12x12
