19th century bowl and underplate in clear colorless crystal overlaid with raspberry pink crystal and acid etched with a stylized anthemia and flower design. In John Shuman’s book, Art Glass Identification & Price Guide, this pattern is identified as Baccarat and this type and color was produced at Baccarat from about 1870. St. Louis - Cristalleries de Saint Louis also produced a very similar pattern called “Thistle”.
Bowl measures approximately 4.6” diameter, and plate diameter is 5.3”. Overall approximately 2.4” tall. Good condition with minor signs of age and use, but no chips or repairs. Glass rings when tapped. For similar glass, see the book, Baccarat by Jean-Louis Curtis (Abrams).
