19th century Auguste Moreau (France, 1834-1917) matched, handed pair of patinated metal sculptures, one depicting a boy, and the other a girl caught up on an ocean wave and clinging to a conch shell. Each have a shaped socle shell-pink marble base fixed with a nut and bolt.
The boy sculpture measures approximately 11.78” tall and weighs about 10.6 pounds, and the girl measures approximately 11.78” tall and weighs approximately 11.3 pounds. These are heavy sculptures for their size and are likely nickel, or nickel alloy. No broken or missing bits, but expect scratches to patina consistent with age and use.
