Scarce circa 1885 Moser glass sugar casket in a very unusual angled cylinder form, decorated in white and gold enamels depicting a woodland hare on its hinged lid, and held in a brass frame. See the book, Moser Artistic Glass by Gary Baldwin, (page 86) for this same décor on the more common form, a rectangular box.
Measures approximately 7” longest x 3.675” diameter x 5” tall. Good condition with little wear to enamel. One brass foot (at back) bent upward, which we did not wish to bend back and risk damage. See photo #4.
If you are a collector of Moser glass, or antique glass caskets, this rare cylinder form would be a terrific addition to your collection.
