Beautiful dark patina on this set of Pompeian Bronze clad bookends, circa 1920. The Galvano Bronze Company changed their name to the Pompeian Bronze Company around 1900 and produced both cast and clad electroformed (plated) bookends until about 1922. These bronze clad bookends have a plaster cement core.
Measures approximately 6.7" tall x 5" wide x 3.125" deep. Impressed, "The Mayflower" on back. One of the bookends has a corner dent, leans forward slightly (see photo) and has a crease toward the bottom. Price has been adjusted to reflect these defects. If perfect they would be priced over $200.00. Weights approximately 6.4# before packing.
