A vintage bead necklace, dating to 1920 - 1930 and in superb condition. Featuring a row of rich, russet red bakelite beads, three large, dark purple millefiori glass beads, and purple glass disc-shaped beads, threaded onto silver colour wire, with tiny decorative brass flower-shaped spacer beads. I don't know how to describe the purple glass discs. They are choc-full of tiny air bubbles, which makes them look fizzy. Like fizzy blackcurrant soda. The necklace is in superb condition and it wears beautifully. A good, long length of 25.5 inches, with a gold-tone clasp. The large millefiori beads are gorgeous; deep, rich colors of purple, almost black, decorated with red and paler amethyst purple, and off-white. The large, disc-shaped purple art glass beads are 1 inch in diameter. The millefiori beads are 0.85 inch in diameter, and the russet red bakelite beads are just over 0.5 inch diameter. The necklace wears beautifully, and looks fabulous around the neck. Very, very impressive indeed. And so classy too.
