This lovely lady is courtesy of Tore Asplund artist. This painting was done by Swedish-American artist, Tore Asplund as a demonstration work and a print was included in the student packages for Art Instruction, Inc. in 1958 as a teaching method for transparent watercolors. Upon going to NY Tore Asplund, studied at the Grand Central Art School and at the Art Students League. As a combat artist in the 2nd World War, he made many paintings of important military operations. A collection of his work was later awarded first prize at the Washington Press Club. The artist is the recipient of many awards and honors. The painting above received the Samuel T. Shaw prize at the 1941 Water Color Exhibition at the Salgamndi Club.
