Reclining Nude in Watercolor print on soft artist's print paper measures 13.25x8.5 inches. This print was used as a teaching reprint by Art Instruction, Inc. in 1958 in one of their packages to students. The print is a vintage but in great shape, never framed, stored flat in dry, smoke free environment. The corners are a tad worn but not creased. Would frame up beautifully. Tore Asplund, the Swedish-American artist, displays in this reclining figure, his mastery of transparent watercolor. There is no overdone detail to destroy the fine sculptural quality of the figure. The facial features have been suggested with utmost siimplicity. A more detailed treatment of the head would have forced it out of position and disrupted the composition. As a demonstration painting, you will see the shadows upon flesh are light in tone and transparent in quality. I will frame this print for you. Ask to see our mouldings.
