Blue bowl with a frosted glass "fleur de lis" on each side, designed by Josef Inwald for Barolac in the 1930's. Inwald was an
amazing glass artist! You can find most of his designs, as Barolac glass kept detailed catalogs, by doing a Google search. I have collected Inwald' s glass pieces for quite a few years. Many pieces are in the same style as Lalique and very close in quality. Several
of my pieces have a small fleur de lis on the bottom, as does this bowl. (Was this his way to leave his mark?)
This bowl is thick pressed glass with four seams. It is also heavy, weighing close to 2 lbs. It measures approximately 8" long X 4 3/4" wide. The sides are 3" tall and each end is 4" tall. The top edge has teeth all around, all in wonderful condition. There is shelf wear, as you would expect to find.
Overall condition is excellent.
