This beautiful compote was made in 1904 by the Bryce Higbee & Company. It was known by many names, such as Ladders & Bars/ Zipper/ Iowa/ Victory/ Paris/ Roughneck/ Zipper Cross. Bryce Higbee & Company, c.1879 to 1907, was the maker of this piece and called it "Ladders & Bars". Often, as a testament to old age in glass, is if it fluoresces when placed under a black light, and this sure does. I've included a picture of just how bright it gets. It measures 6" across the center of the top and is 5" tall. The top edge is ruffled. It's in very good condition.
