American Brilliant Glass is actually hand cut crystal, which was done from 1876 to around 1920. That crystal had a 50% lead content vs. todays crystal which has up to a 24% lead content. The high lead content created masterpieces! ABP hand cut crystal glass was heavier than todays crystal and gave The ABP pieces much more clarity and brilliance. This stunning bowl is from that era. The pattern is much like T. Hawkes "Chrysanthemum" pattern, but I can't find a maker name on this piece. For whatever reason, the bottom of the bowl is un-cut and only has quite a bit of shelf wear. It has a solid brass collar, in pretty good condition. There are a couple small chips, some flea bites and rough spots. Originally, this bowl was called a planter and came with an insert for the plants.
The measurements are as follows: Size: 8" round, measuring across the top/ Height: 4 1/2"/ Weight: 4 lbs 10 oz. The packaging includes double boxing and insurance. I don't think anyone will be disappointed.
