This belonged to my late Grandmother who brought it to California when she moved there from Rhode Island in the early 1930's.
The bowl is a treasure! It has repousse floral panels, separated by plain silver panels. Each panel is a scallop, rather than a plain round bowl. It is a footed piece, marked only with the word "Silver", which was marked by the maker, on the bottom. I am not an expert on silver, but it passed four separate tests so I would know if it is silverplate or sterling silver. One test was an acid test that was positive for sterling. Still, I'd rather call it silverplate than sterling and be wrong, regardless of the tests results. The bowl is really beautiful. It measures 7 3/4" across the center of the top and is 3 3/4" tall. Condition is very good.
