Dorothy Thorpe was an American Artist who designed patterns for glass and china companies from the 1930's to the early 1950's. She designed a pattern of dinnerware which she called "Santa Barbara" for the New Zealand Pottery Company. The pattern was quite successful. Thorpe then used the pattern on a line of glass items. This glass footed dish is an example of her Santa Barbara pattern.
It is made of both plain and frosted glass in a pale pink. It is 2 3/4" tall and measures 5 1/4" across the center of the top. It is in very good condition. I have a purple ashtray by Thorpe in another listing in this same pattern.
