Haviland makes some of the most beautiful china in the world. Someone once said "You can never be too rich,
too thin or have too much Haviland." There was a lady who lived close to the Haviland China Company. Her last
name was Schleiger, and she began collecting the china. In the beginning , the Haviland boys never named their
patterns. But Mrs. Schleiger had catalogged dozens of patterns in a notebook and took it to the china company.
The Havilands were so greatful. At some point, the two familys became intertwined. Hence, the Schleiger Number.
If you have a pattern with only a number, you have a very old piece. I have a good size set with this 849 number. I will have all of it listed by the end of the week at the latest. This listing is for the Covered Vegetable Dish. It's 9 1/2" long X 6 3/4" wide X 3" deep.
It's in excellent condition and it's beautiful!
