Each hand painted ruby red and yellow rose ,each time consuming hand painted heavy gold detail surrounding this antique, Japanese porcelain ,helps create the stunning vision transcended thru the emergence of this Nippon vase.
Derived from the Meiji period (1868-1912) this vase stands a full 10 3/4" h x 7 " wide ....with a circumference of 16 3/4"~ The bottom is covered with cobalt blue and heavy gold coin trim and the top has been hand crafted.....with the most delicate petal like edges and hundreds of tiny gold beading..... It bears an extraordinary presence and is in excellent condition
Highly translucent in nature this is a very exceptional quality porcelain . Though appearing very delicate it is very strong and has with stood well over 100 years without any chips, nicks, cracks or repairs. Free from crazing and just a bit of wear to the gold commensurate with age these un marked Nippon creations are highly sought after by collectors around the world.
The generous amounts of gold used on these creations is seen during the meiji period. This gold will wear a tiny bit and is not as durable as modern day. the bluish grey color of the porcelain is another sign of the nippon quality as is the applied handles. The gold needs precise firing and then the applied handles are done separately. many detailed steps are maintained to exact standards to create these timeless treasures
*pardon the glare from my picture taking...it is stunning in person .... the kutani tea set is not included with the vase...it is listed separately for sale....
