Paulus and Soloman by Jean Dulieu
Paulus the wood-gnome adores pancakes. When he came home hungry and exhausted he thought the gift of a bowl of batter was almost too good to be true. Fortunately for Paulus, Solomon the raven knew it was too good to be safe. This was another scheme by Eucalypta the witch to put a magic spell on the little gnome. That was the beginning of an adventure in which three devoted friends combine to outwit Eucalypta. At last, Paulus was able to repay his old friend Solomon by rescuing him from the witch's magic.
