"Paddington Takes to TV" written by MIchael Bond and illustrated by Ivor Wood. Published by Houghton Mifflin Company, last copyright date 1972.
Paddington that lovable bumbling bear from darkest Peru, is back again in yet another hilarious series of mad adventures. This time, when he wins a cake-baking competition on British TV's Favorite children's show, Paddington takes to the air, and though our intrepid bear causes the producers their fair share of frantic moments being on TV doesn't phase him in the least.
The members of his family, the Browns, are naturally quite proud of him and all gather eagerly around the TV to watch him receive first prize. Their enthusiasm is only somewhat dampened when Paddington reveals that his masterful cake rose so much it left no room to pry it out of Mr. Brown's portable cookstove. Being a practical bear, he did not attempt the impossible but simply frosted the oven with the cake inside!
