For your consideration is a mid century wooden jewelry box from Japan manufactured for Mele. The company was founded in 1912 and is based in Utica, New York. This vintage, hand painted, jewelry box features a pair of Partridges on the top surrounded by a floral design. The front and sides feature a lovely hand painted flower design. The interior is lined with gold colored material and it has a removable top tray with compartments. The box is about 12" long by 5-1/4" high by 5-7/8" wide. It is marked with a paper label on the bottom.
