For the lover of elves and gnomes I am offering a charming and highly collectible circa 1900 GERMAN made Gnome Elf. This early piece is made of a dough mass material (dough was the earliest material used with these putz figurines and is like papier mache). He has a mustard yellow jacket and stands just shy of 2.25" tall. He is one of several I have available (please see the last photograph). They are charming grouped together, as shown! Maker unknown but most likely early Erzgebirge region.
He would be perfect in a Christmas Santa's Workshop, Dollhouse or Fairy setting. A fine and rare example of an early putz toy. Much nicer than photos allow. Notice the detailing. Simply charming. In nice condition with age appropriate wear, as shown. Chips to his cap and boots.
I am in the process of listing MANY early German carved and dough composition figures from the early 1800's to early 1900's. Many fine, museum worthy examples from the regions of Erzgebirge, Grulich, Seiffen and Thuringia with be offered. I am aways happy to combine shipping on multiple items.
