If you love all things Art Deco, you'll absolutely love this 1930s bullet shaped refrigerator or leftover dish by the Hall China Company for Westinghouse.
When Americans transitioned from iceboxes to electric refrigerators in the 1930s, refrigerator manufacturers contracted with Ohio-based Hall China Company to provide dishes as premiums-with-purchase items. These refrigerator dishes are sought after by collectors for their vibrant colors, art deco shapes, and usefulness that still exists almost a century later!
These dishes are oven and microwave safe and although considered refrigerator storage dishes, they can easily be included in oven-to-table wares.
This dish has a rounded bullet shape with the curved ridges that became so popular during the art deco era, and the lid has a recessed handle. Color is a vibrant deep orange with white glazed interior.
The dish holds 3 1/2 cups and, with the lid on, measures 6 7/8" long x 4 1/2" wide x 3 3/4" high. Great to use for a terrine! Excellent condition.
The dish weighs a bit over 2 lbs before packing, and shipping will be via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, insurance included.
